NGA Emerges as Overall Champion.
Under the divine blessings of His Holiness Mahant Baba Ram Singh Ji Maharaj and the esteemed presence of Param Pujya Sant Baba Jodh Singh Ji Maharaj, a grand, unforgettable, and memorable Inter School Chess Tournament was organized at Nirmal Ashram Gyan Daan Academy (NGA), Rishikesh, on 11th October 2025, to celebrate National Chess Day.
The disciplined and intellectual event was inaugurated by Dr Premchand Agarwal Ji (MLA, Rishikesh & Former Cabinet Minister, Government of Uttarakhand), while the closing ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ Ji, Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand & Former Union Education Minister, adding further prestige to the occasion.
The program began with a warm welcome and address by NGA Headmistress Mrs. Amritpal Dang Madam, and the School Principal Dr. Suneeta Sharma Ji expressed heartfelt gratitude to the revered Maharaj Ji, the honored chief guests, dignitaries on the dais, and all participants.

To add further prestige to the event, Sherali Pattnaik, Uttarakhand’s top female Chess player, along with her father IFS Mr. Sushant Patnaik Ji and mother Mrs. Shivani Patnaik Ji, was honored as a special guest.
During the event, 125 players from 24 schools filled the venue with energy, enthusiasm, and exemplary sportsmanship, making the competition a remarkable success.
